‘Star Wars’ and ‘Fortnite’ Collab For New Season Titled “Galactic Battle” – Star Wars News Net

Star Wars and Fortnite are collaborating again for a new season titled “Galactic Battle.” The news was announced at Star Wars Celebration with a brand new trailer showcasing Darth Jar Jar, Mace Windu, Mandalorians, and more. The new season begins on May 2.

Players will be able to purchase and collect new skins, cosmetic items, and take part in new gameplay events. Each week will have a new theme, starting on May 2 and going into early June.

Imperial Takeover – May 2

The Pull of the Force – May 8

Mandalorian Rising – May 22

Star Destroyer Bombardment – May 29

Death Star Sabotage – June 7

With it comes new additions to the Battle Royale experience, including a new Battle Pass. It was revealed that the Pass will feature Emperor Palpatine and an adorable new Wookie rendition called the Wookie Cuddle Team Leader.

On the Item Shop, it appears Mace Windu will be available for purchase. And on the gameplay side, there will be new map locations, as well as X-Wings and TIE-Fighters for players to control. Force Lightning will also be a usable skill. And based on the key art also unveiled (below), it looks like Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma will also make an appearance, alongside different variations of Fortnite’s original characters.

Finally, the season will end with an in-game narrative live event that will make players feel like “they’ve got the fate of the whole galaxy in their hands.”

This isn’t the first time Star Wars and Fortnite have worked together in the past. There have been multiple collaborations, both bringing with them new character skins, abilities, and cosmetic items. Past collaborations included Luke Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, and much more.

Gamers can expect bigger and larger collaborations with Star Wars, Disney, Fortnite, and Epic Games in the future, as Disney acquired a $1.5 billion stake in Epic Games. At Star Wars Celebration, there was another big triple-A Star Wars game shown off called Star Wars Zero Company, described as a “turn-based tactics game” from new developer Bit Reactor.
