
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Hawkeye Downs Speedway officially kicked off its 100th year of racing with a public celebration on Saturday.
Fans gathered for a ribbon cutting, car show, and meet-and-greet with local racers. The event featured 2025 racecars on display, photo ops, and family-friendly activities. Practice laps began at noon, giving spectators a preview of the season ahead.
The celebration marks the beginning of a milestone year for the historic track, with special events planned throughout the 2025 season. Hawkeye Downs is one of Iowa’s premier racing venues and has been a staple in Cedar Rapids since 1925.
