
OREGON, Ill. (WIFR) – Ogle County 4-H and the Ogle County Health Department work together to help families in need.
The groups are collecting food to fill the Mini Food Center at Conover Square in Oregon. The project is part of the National Day of Service for Ogle County 4-H members.
Donations needed include:
- Bread
- Tortillas
- English muffins
- Whole wheat or vegetable pasta
- Rice
- Pasta sauce (unbreakable containers are best)
- Mac N Cheese
- Boxed, whole-grain, low-sugar cereals
- Oatmeal
- Nut butters (almond, peanut and/or sesame)
- Potatoes
- Boxed granola and cereal bars
- Applesauce
- Canned vegetables
- Canned beans
- Canned fruit
- Canned tuna, chicken, ham and/or salmon
- Canned soups/stews
- Juice
- Jellies
- Crackers
- Popcorn
- Nuts
- Dried fruit
- Condiments (ketchup, mustard, seasonings, salad dressings)
Donations can be dropped off until May 1 at the Ogle County Extension Office at 421 West Pines Rd., Oregon.
