NILES, MI (WSBT) — Easter is just days away, and Thursday children got to make a splash while searching for eggs.
Children participated in the Splish Splash Easter Egg Bash at the Niles YMCA, hunting for eggs in the lap pool, and the therapy pool.
Once they arrive, kids take a swim test, then jump in to collect as many eggs as they can.
WSBT spoke with Will McCorkle, the Aquatic Director.
“Well Easter egg hunt in the water isn’t very common You know you you find Easter egg hunts in the Fields and the woods But how cool is it to to do an Easter egg dive in the water?” says McCorkle.
“That’s a pretty special event. You get your exercise swimming, you get your free time in the in the water, but then you get to also you get to collect eggs,” McCorkle says.
The eggs collected were then cashed-in for prizes.
