
The Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch crew welcomes the Oklahoma Mustang Club to talk about their organization and a hobby that gets you places pretty fast.
Oklahoma Mustang Club Secretary Deann King and Treasurer Charli Childers talk join the Porch to share their upcoming fundraiser and a bit of the passion they have for a certain type of car.
“The Mustang was first introduced to the public on April 17, 1964 at the World’s Fair,” King said. “I have a hot pink 2020 EcoBoost convertible, and I love to do parades with my car. Her name is Pinky.”
Childers owns not one, but two Ford Mustangs. “The one I drive the most is my 2020 GT Premium convertible,” she said. “It is grabber lime green and his name is Kermie.”
The club has around 275 families that are members according to King, which spans across the globe. “We have a family in Australia that’s a member,” she said.
At frequent times a month, the club get’s together to show or race their Mustangs in different formats and race types. It’s a way for members to get to enjoy their cars and socialize.
You don’t have to own a Mustang to join the club, so it does not stop enthusiasts from participating within the club’s many events.
Their May 10 Fundraiser Car Show will take place in Mustang, Oklahoma.
