
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Southern Connecticut women’s swimming and diving standout Molly Kennedy has been named the 2025 Sport Excellence Award winner for women’s swimming and diving as announced by the Northeast-10 on Thursday, Apr. 17. This award honors student-athletes outstanding athletic and academic achievements. To be eligible for Academic All-Conference and Sport Excellence honors, a student-athlete must have started at least half or played in two-thirds of all contests while making significant contributions and maintaining a 3.3 grade-point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale.
Kennedy has a 3.78 GPA as a health science major and was named to the NE10 Academic All-Conference Team earlier this month. This past season she was named the 2025 NE10 Conference Championships Swimmer of the Meet and won seven championships. She is currently 14-for14 in NE10 Championships events with 14 gold medals. She is a 2025 NE10 Champion in: 800 Freestyle Relay, 200 Freestyle Relay, 50 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle, 200 Yard Medley Relay, 100 Freestyle, and 400 Freestyle Relay. In 2024, she was a champion in: 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle Relay, 400 Freestyle Relay, 800 Freestyle Relay, and 200 Medley Relay while also being named the 2023-2024 NE10 Co-Rookie of the Year.
