CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) – Southeast Missouri State University will offer a Bachelor of Science in game development beginning in the fall of 2025.
The degree will blend technical expertise and creative storytelling to prepare graduates for careers at major game studios.
The program will offer hands-on technical experience in game-specific programming as well as experience with game development engines.
Students that choose the major will also dive deep into the creative and storytelling aspects of video games.
Ethan Chou, department of computer science instructor says, “The thought that I might one day play a game developed by our students is incredibly exciting. This program will open doors for the next generation of game creators.”
During their time at SEMO, game development students will be able to build their own projects and graduate with a portfolio of work to show future employers.
