Poshard Foundation announces $111K in donations to southern Ill. food pantries

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS (KFVS) – More than $100,000 in donations are being distributed to food pantries across the southern Illinois region.

This is thanks to the Poshard Foundation for Abused Children.

The nonprofit announced its donation of $111,000 to local food pantries on Tuesday, April 15. The money must be used to purchase fresh, highly nutritious food for children.

“In working with vulnerable children for over twenty-five years, we know that good nutrition is part of the healing process. We ask participating pantries to give us their strategies for getting the food into the hands of children,” said Jo Poshard.

The 59 area food pantries receiving grants from the Poshard Foundation include:
