Johnson hired as Karnack ISD director of finance

Karnack ISD has announced it hired Courtney Johnson as the district’s new director of finance.

A native of East Texas, Johnson brings more than 13 years of experience in budgeting, financial planning and analysis, and project planning. Her professional background reflects a deep understanding of financial principles, policies and procedures — skills she is eager to apply in her new role, the district said.

Johnson is a graduate of Harleton High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Stephen F. Austin State University.

“I’m excited to begin this new chapter with Karnack ISD,” Johnson said. “I look forward to making a positive impact for our students, staff, and community.”

Outside of work, Johnson enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new foods, reading, and going on adventures with her 13-year-old daughter, who will attend George Washington Carver Elementary this school year.

Johnson’s addition to the district leadership team reflects Karnack ISD’s commitment to strong financial stewardship and student-focused progress, the district said.
