UPPER PENINSULA, Mich. (WLUC) – Two mobile food pantries run by volunteers with Feeding America West Michigan are distributing food to families in need in Delta and Marquette counties Wednesday.
The first food distribution event is in Escanaba at the Salvation Army at 3001 5th Ave. S. It begins at 10 a.m. and continues until 11:30 a.m. Eastern, or until food runs out.
The second event is located in the parking lot of Northern Michigan University’s Berry Events Center in Marquette. That event starts at noon and continues until 1:30 p.m. Eastern time.
Attendees can get food for up to six families if they’re unable to make it to the event. Being able to provide information such as the name, address, and/or household size of any other family you are picking up could be required at arrival.
There must be adequate space in the trunk or backseat for volunteers to put food items directly inside, as both pantries are drive-thru events.
