MORGANTOWN, W.Va.– The No. 15 seed West Virginia University women’s tennis team faces No. 10 seed Kansas State in the opening round of the 2025 Big 12 Tennis Championship at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.
West Virginia (8-16, 2-11 Big 12) closed out the regular season with a 4-2 win on the road against Cincinnati on April 12. This marked the first time West Virginia has defeated multiple Big 12 teams on the road for the first time since joining the conference.

Senior Michaela Kucharova and freshman Laura Villanueva Morillo are the only Mountaineers with three conference wins in singles play on the season. Villaneuva Morillo is tied with graduate student Julie Bousseau on the team with seven singles victories this year.
Kucharova and Villaneuva Morillo lead West Virginia in doubles play as the pairing is 9-4 this season.
The match will be live-streamed on ESPN+.
