KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WCYB). — The Kingsport Farmers Market opening day is coming up soon with giveaways, activities for kids and live music.
Opening day is on Saturday, April 26th, which will include a Kingsport Public Library children’s activity beginning at 8:30 a.m., free tomato seedlings for the kids and free shopping bags for kids to color.
The farmers market will run every Saturday until the end of November, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until produce is sold out.
There will be more than 200 local vendors ready to sell their goods. Items being sold include fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, meats, artisan crafts and fresh flowers.
The great thing about a farmer’s market is that it is all fresh food. I’m excited to see what our vendors bring in this year. In June, we have our Saturdays with the chef, we use the fresh fruits and vegetables to do a live cooking demo. A lot of fresh meats, eggs, breads, everything that you want you can find here at your local farmer’s market, said Kingsport Farmers Market Manager, Kristie Leonard.
The Kingsport Farmers Market will also be open on Wednesdays beginning May 1st from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will run through the end of September.
