GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) -A local family said their family pet has gone missing after they had food delivered to their house on April 7.
Trina Gallegos and Jordan Silva said their pet chihuahua CanniB went missing after a food delivery. “My daughter put the dog out back so she can eat. Then my daughter didn’t notice, but my other daughter came home and noticed the note on the door stating that she had taken our dog because she didn’t want her to get hit,” said Gallegos.
The note reads “I have your dog, I was worried he would get hit. I knocked, but no answer.” There was also a phone number written on the note, but the family said they tried to call it, and it was out of service.
CanniB isn’t just a pet to the household, he’s a family member. “It’s been kind of hard without my dog and I just would like my dog home,” said Silva.
Since CanniB went missing, the family has been working hard to find him. “It’s been a lot, I’ve been getting off work all day, every day, just going out, just driving around and looking in the community,” said Silva.
Their main focus is getting their dog home. “We’re just trying to get her back. I mean, we don’t even want to press charges. We just want our dog back,” said Gallegos.
When asked if the situation could be a misunderstanding, Silva said maybe, but she just wasn’t sure.
Mesa County Sheriff’s Office said since the case was ongoing, they couldn’t give a report on it.
