Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney have mastered the art of parenting-while-famous. Despite spending her career in the spotlight thanks to box office hits like The Hunger Games, Silver Linings Playbook, and Don’t Look Up, the actress and mother-of-two has kept her family life entirely private—no small feat for someone who has been working in film and T.V. since she was a teenager. Now, however, family comes first.
“Once you start a family, that’s the greatest thing in the world,” she once told Cameron Diaz for Interview. “I’m just gonna try to take in every second and be present and enjoy it.”
The couple have so far welcomed a son, Cy, and a second baby whose name and gender they’ve yet to share. Ahead, everything you should know about their two children.

Lawrence and Maroney welcomed their first child, Cy, in February 2022. Lawrence graced the cover of Vogue that September and told the publication that the baby was named after one of her husband’s favorite artists, Cy Twombly.
“The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over,” she said. “Like, Now is day one of my life. I just stared. I was just so in love.” She continued, “I mean the euphoria of Cy is just—Jesus, it’s impossible. I always tell him, ‘I love you so much it’s impossible.’”
Three years later, sources describe Lawrence as a “fun mom.” “She’s loves outings with her son, [but] she’s also super protective,” one insider told People. “She wants her children to have as much privacy as possible.”

News of Lawrence’s second pregnancy broke thanks to Vogue in October 2024, with sources telling People that the Causeway actress was “thrilled to be pregnant again.”
Then, in March 2025, the couple was spotted out and about in New York City with their new addition. “Her first child was born in Los Angeles. She recently gave birth to her second child in N.Y.C. She’s doing well,” a source confirmed to People. “She was very excited about the pregnancy. She thought it was the perfect timing. She was very active and felt good.”
While Lawrence and Maroney haven’t shared the baby’s exact birthdate, name, or gender with the public, sources say she is “doing well.”
“Being back in that newborn phase with a toddler as well can be overwhelming, but Jen’s [got] such a great attitude,” the insider told People. “She’s meant to be a mom. She’s calm and just goes with the flow. Cooke’s a great dad too. They are good at balancing it all together.”
