Oakland County man shot in the back of the head while playing video games

COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 21-year-old man from Burton was killed early Friday morning when he was shot in the back of the head while playing video games.

It happened just after midnight, April 11, at a Commerce Township home southeast of the intersection of Grand Traverse Street and Carroll Lake Road.

Background: 21-year-old killed in Oakland County shooting

First responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

According to authorities, a group of friends and family members were hanging out and playing video games when the gun was fired.

Authorities said the suspected shooter — a 24-year-old man from Commerce Township — has been taken into custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
