‘Stamp Out Hunger’ food drive set for May 10

RIFA Announces NALC’s Annual Food Drive “Stamp Out Hunger” Set for May 10 

JACKSON, TN – April 11, 2025 – RIFA will partner with the USPS and the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) as they conduct their national food drive, Stamp Out Hunger, on Saturday, May 10, 2025. Since 1993, this food drive has helped feed millions of Americans each year and has grown into the nation’s largest one-day food drive. 

“We are grateful to be partnering with our local letter carriers again this year for Stamp Out  Hunger,” said Lisa Tillman, Executive Director of RIFA. “The food collected through this food  drive is distributed throughout our community to support those in need. We are incredibly thankful for the letter carriers and the hard work they do to make this food drive possible. Because of our generous community, we are able to support our neighbors who are facing  food-insecurity every day.” 

The timing is important for food banks, including RIFA, as summer approaches. 

On May 10, as they deliver mail, Jackson letter carriers will collect your donations left in your mailboxes. Residents are encouraged to leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods, such as canned soup, canned vegetables, canned meats and fish, pasta, rice, or cereal in their mailbox before the regular mail delivery on Saturday. These food donations help feed local residents. All donations are tax-deductible and will be picked up rain or shine.
