HYDE PARK- The PTSA and members of the Roosevelt Racing team at FDR High School are proud to present the “Ultimate Car Show and Flea Market.” Taking place on the school’s lawn, the event will feature music, food, raffles, and a flea market of local vendors. It is free to attend, and entry into the show costs $20. All proceeds will benefit the FDR PTSA and the Roosevelt Racing team.
As one of six schools involved in the Winners Circle Project, FDR High School’s automotive students have spent this past school year building a Factory Five race car from the ground up, gaining valuable hands-
on experience in engineering, teamwork, and auto racing. The car show and flea market will provide a unique opportunity for the community to support the students’ hard work while learning about the
high-powered world of motorsports. FDR High School WCP Build instructor, Shawn Christensen commented, “This car show and flea market gives us a chance to showcase the students’ hard work this
year.”
Roosevelt Racing is a collaborative experience where students develop and showcase their skills for various STEAM activities. The full-service race car team consists of 3 classes–Marketing, Visual Communications, and Build which are all focused on the history of Hyde Park and upholding FDR’s legacy. RR’s vision is to create a thriving community where young people innovate, collaborate, and
develop essential life skills to build a brighter future.
