Saturday’s forecast in Norwich is one that could have come from Dr. Seuss’ Cat in the Hat: “The sun did not shine. It was too wet to play.”
The National Weather Service is predicting rain and snow on Saturday, with all rain after 8 a.m. High temperatures are expected to be 42° and wind gusts as high as 26 mph.
Clearly, not a forecast for outdoor activities.
With that in mind, Paul Petrillo of Petrillo’s Fairs and Festivals has announced that Saturday’s Food Truck Festival at Dodd Stadium has been postponed. A new date has not been announced.
“Due to the rain, cold and wind we are postponing the event,” Petrillo wrote in an email. “With the weather forecast it would not be an enjoyable experience for attendees and not a successful one for the vendors and food trucks.”
What to know about the Food Truck Festival at Dodd Stadium
The Norwich Food Truck Festival was scheduled at Dodd Stadium at 14 Stott Ave. The event, with free admission, was scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday.
Seventeen food trucks had signed up, with fare ranging from Italian and Thai food to cheesesteaks and cupcakes. Some of the better-known food trucks on tap to participate were Bear’s Smokehouse, Dude’s Donuts and Chompers.
The festival was also scheduled to include tables for crafters, artists, other foods, and military.
