2025 ArborFest

The Yakima Area Arboretum will celebrate Washington state’s Arbor Day on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

The theme for this year’s event is “River of Life: Every Drop Matters!” and will explore how nature, trees and forests are connected to rain, rivers and more. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the arboretum, 1401 Arboretum Drive. The event is free but donations will be accepted.

Approximately 30 local organizations, agencies and businesses will have stations set up with educational lessons or activities to inform visitors about the connection between plants, trees, crops, animals and how water sustains them.

The family-friendly event will feature learning opportunities, arts and crafts and displays. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own reusable bag to take home items collected at the ArborFest.

The Yakima Area Arboretum will hand out over 400 trees to families at ArborFest and expert gardeners will assist in choosing the correct tree for landscaping needs. The Washington State Department of Health will offer free testing on toys and soil for lead and arsenic.

Food from Chitoz Tacoz and Flippen Sweets will be available for purchase.
