Intuit launches national finance challenge for students

April marks Financial Literacy Month, and Intuit is launching its second annual Hour of Finance Challenge, a national initiative aimed at bringing real-world money lessons into middle and high school classrooms through interactive activities and games.

Dave Zasada, Vice President of Education and Corporate Responsibility at Intuit, emphasized the importance of financial education. “We encourage teachers to be part of the Hour of Finance Challenge, where teachers educate their students about finance regardless of the grade students are in,” he said.

Educator Miles Willams highlighted the necessity for students to grasp financial concepts. “It is important for students to understand credit cards, budgeting, and assets,” Willams said.

The challenge offers teachers a quick lesson on budgeting, followed by a quiz for students using an online game that features real-world scenarios. Students will receive scores that allow them to compete against other schools nationwide, with opportunities to win Chromebooks.
