The New York State Fair is bringing back one of last year’s most popular shows.
Blippi will perform at Chevy Court on Sunday, Aug. 31, at 1 p.m. The family-friendly show, dubbed “Blippi: Join the Band Tour,” is free to attend with admission to the NYS Fair.
The stage show is based on the popular “Blippi” YouTube series created by and starring Stevin John. The fair’s show will feature professional stage performers portraying the characters of Blippi and Meekah, sining and dancing with live music as they teach kids about different sounds, rhythms and instruments.
Blippi first appeared at the NYS Fair last year, drawing 15,000 fans. It was the largest crowd at Chevy Court in 2024 and more popular than half of last year’s Suburban Park shows.
The character, known for his orange glasses, bow tie and suspenders, combines singing and dancing with lessons for children. John began posting videos to YouTube in 2014, soon reaching 24 million subscribers and getting distributed to more than 30 global broadcast and streaming partners. The “Blippi” brand also now includes spinoff shows for Meekah and Juca, plus merchandise and toys available at major retailers.

All NYS Fair shows are free to attend with admission to the Fair, which is $8 for adults for the second year in a row. Admission is free for children under 12 and senior citizens aged 65 and older.
More than 40 national acts will perform at the NYS Fair this year under a new five-year agreement with concert promoter Romeo Entertainment Group (REG). Upgrades are being planned at the two main stages, Chevy Court and Suburban Park.
Chevy Court (located near Gate 1) will feature two shows daily at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., while the larger Suburban Park stage will host an 8 p.m. concert each night. Two “special shows” will also be held each Friday (Aug. 22 and 29) at 9 p.m. at Chevy Court.
The 2025 New York State Fair runs from Wednesday, Aug. 20, through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1. The fairgrounds are located in Geddes, near Syracuse.
