CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) – Southeast Missouri Food Bank and several partner organizations are planning mobile food pantries on Saturday, April 12.
The organizations plan to give away SEMO Food Bank Boxes containing meat, soup, peanut butter, vegetables and fruit.
Food Bank leaders say the people needing food assistance should visit the closest pantry to their community.
People picking up food should also bring photo ID and a piece of mail, like a utility bill, that proves where they live.
The food drives will take place at the following locations until the food runs out:
- Bloomfield Assembly Church, 20034 State Highway E, Bloomfield, MO
- Bread Shed, 203 North D Street, Poplar Bluff, MO(Walk thru)
- Shawnee Park Center, 835 S. West End Blvd., Cape Girardeau, MO
- Elsinore General Baptist Church, 12 E. Broadway, Ellsinore, MO
Most of the distributions are mobile, but not all of them.
Organizers ask that those accepting food have a place cleared in their vehicle and have a way to carry the food if the pantry isn’t mobile.
