Michigan Sports Writers Division 3 girls all-state basketball teams

The releasing of girls basketball all-state teams from the Michigan Sports Writers continued Tuesday with Division 3 teams dropping.

And to no surprise, defending state champion Ypsilanti Arbor Prep fills the list, pulling in three first team selections, along with the Coach of the Year honor going to Scott Stine.

But the Division 3 Player of the Year? You have to go a little further north to find Harbor Springs senior Olivia Flynn. The Miss Basketball runner-up earned the Michigan Sports Writers Division 3 Player of the Year honor.

Flynn, a four-time first team all-state selection, averaged 24.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 4.4 steals. She’s signed to play for Western Michigan University next season.

A panel of Michigan sports writers selected the teams and player of the year, with Division 4 released Monday.
