Food Website Names An Illinois-Made Frozen Pizza As The Very Best

When I was a kid, I didn’t even know that you could actually get a pizza from a restaurant. It’s not that I’d never had pizza, it’s just that the only kind I’d ever had seemed to magically appear out of our own oven, and only on occasional Sunday nights.

We generally only had a rotation of two different brands of frozen pizza at my childhood home; one was Gino’s pizza, and the other, made right here in Rockford, Illinois was Maria’s frozen pizza (yes, that Maria’s, over on Cunningham). I personally favored Maria’s.

Then, we moved when I was 12, and there was a wonderful pizza joint nearby in our new town that ended up being the place where I had my first non-frozen pizza (followed by several hundred more).

However, frozen pizza will always be a favorite of mine.

EatThis.com:

The best frozen pizza is frankly a no-brainer: Chicago Home Run Pizza is a staple in our home for good reason. It’s not only huge but absolutely delicious (although if you don’t have a big freezer storing it can be a pain). “The most impressive thing to me about Home Run Inn frozen pizzas is that the parts of the pizza (sauce, cheese, dough, toppings) are basically just made with the ingredients it takes to make them.
