Feeding South Dakota hosts food distribution at Sioux Falls elementary school

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – With uncertainty on the future of the economy, Americans are looking to find ways to put food on the table for their families.

On Tuesday, Feeding South Dakota helped some local families with that relief.

With the help of the Oak Hills Baptist Church, 20 volunteers were at Laura B. Anderson Elementary School, helping to distribute food.

The organization had over 300 people waiting for food.

Organizers said that they served over 150 cars on Tuesday afternoon, and residents were there to help their own families or assist others in need.

” I’m out here to help a friend out, she is kind of in need, and so I’m trying to get her some food to help him out because her husband had surgery and they are down to one income,” said attendee Christi Corria.

You can get a schedule of where the next food distribution time will be on the Feeding South Dakota website or by calling 211.
