Charlotte food hall in the running for best nationwide

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A well-known Charlotte food hall was put in the running for the best nationwide in USA Today’s 10 Best Annual Reader’s Choice voting series.

Optimist Hall, located off Parkwood Avenue just outside Uptown, was named one of the country’s top 20 food halls in the report.

The food hall offers a variety of food including southern-inspired dishes, homemade barbeque, Asian-style dumplings, Italian favorites, Mexican specialties, fresh bakery items, and an assortment of desserts.

Optimist Hall’s “hip” vibe welcomes visitors with a blend of specialties within the historic 1800s building, which was originally a textile mill.

Writers said the 20 food halls were picked based on their ”fantastic selection of eateries and their positive contributions to their communities.”
