OROVILLE, Calif. – The Community Action Agency of Butte County, Inc. North State Food Bank announced Tuesday that they will be holding their next food distribution event at the Nelson Sports Complex in Oroville.
The free food distribution, which takes place on Friday, April 11, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, or until food supplies run out.
“We’ve organized a drive-through event using pre-boxed food to help protect those in need of food and our volunteers to the maximum extent,” said Tom Dearmore, the COO of the Community Action Agency.
Those who will be attending the distribution event are asked to be in a vehicle and to follow the traffic flow guides.
Each box of food that will be handed out contain healthy, shelf-stable, and perishable food depending on the seasonal availability of each item.
The boxes each weigh between 17 to 22 pounds and will be placed by volunteers into each vehicle that attends the distribution. Participants are requested to remain in their vehicles.
