Sports physicals to be offered on May 2 at PCHS

Sports physicals for all Polk County youth, middle school and high school athletes will be available Friday, May 2, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Polk County High School gymnasium.

The event, organized by AdventHealth Athletic Training, offers examinations for $25 per student, payable by cash, check or card. All proceeds remain at the school to purchase medical supplies and equipment for PCHS athletes.

Parents or guardians must complete paperwork in advance, with packets available at Polk County Middle School and Polk County High School offices or online at polkschools.org/physical. The first three pages should be completed and signed by a parent or guardian before arrival.

Students who submit completed packets in advance will be entered into a drawing, with one male and one female student receiving free physicals.

The clinic provides several advantages for families. Completed physicals cover athletes for the entire 2025-26 school year, eliminating the need to secure new examinations for different sports seasons. This timing also helps families navigate insurance limitations, as most health plans cover only one physical per calendar year.

AdventHealth providers are donating their time for the event, allowing the entire $25 fee to benefit the school’s athletic medical programs.

Students must arrive before the 4:30 p.m. cutoff time to receive examinations.
