IMPERIAL — The East Side Story Car Show & Fiesta + Funkin’ Oldies took over the Imperial Valley Fairgrounds in Imperial on Saturday, April 5, with dozens of tricked out “ranflas,” classic lowrider music and an appearance by East Side Story Music series “designer” by Anthony Boosalis.
The East Side Story Car Show & Fiesta featured “bombs” from the 1930s up to the ’90s, including motorcycles and bicycles, all competing for a variety of awards. Music included Lakeside, Tierra Legacy, Sunny Ozuna, Candyman and more.
The touring event was born in 1979 of the music put together for the lowriding community to bump in their “ranflas” as they cruised the boulevards, featuring only the best, most relevant R&B classic and doo wop songs and ballads, according to East Side Story’s website.
