Living Treasure & ‘Forged in Fire’ at The James Black Bowie Festival

A few weeks ago we found out who was awarded the Arkansas Living Treasure, now we can see him as he will be a speaker at the James Black Bowie Festival at Historic Washington State Park later this month.

Stephen Driver won the Living Treasure title last month, but he’s making it official with a speech during James Black’s Bowie Heritage Festival on April 26 at 11 AM.  Driver is now one of 23 traditional and heritage craftsmen and artists who have also received the award in Arkansas.

Driver is a master potter and has been honing his craft now for over 50 years. He has taught and inspired hundreds of students. He has his own business called Mulberry Creek Pottery where he makes wood-fired pottery inspired by Arkansas’ natural landscapes.

He has also been recognized by the state of Arkansas with the Governor’s Arts Award in 2024.

Be sure to plan on being at the James Black Bowie Festival. You won’t want to miss the celebrities from the hit show Forged in Fire on the History Channel. Special guests will include Doug Marcaida, J. Neilson, and Ricardo Vilar. Also appearing at the festival will be Anthony De Longis, who is a whip and sword master. He has trained actors in movies like Roadhouse, Indiana Jones and Batman.
