Jefferson Middle School hosting “Family Finance Night” to promote financial literacy

JEFFERSON, Wis. — Jefferson Middle School is set to host “Family Finance Night,” an event aimed at teaching middle school students and their families the importance of financial literacy. The event will take place on April 21 from 6-8 p.m. at the middle school.

During the event, families will have the opportunity to learn various strategies for handling money. Students can sign up for a savings account, and families can explore the different financial services available in the community.

Additionally, there will be free refreshments, and the middle school will be giving away over $500 in prizes and gift cards.

Jefferson Middle School has a “very successful Investors’ Club,” and promotes financial literacy education to 8th grade students as part of their curriculum. A student at the middle school has received state-level recognition for their achievement in the Stock Market Game this year. The school currently has student teams that are ranked second, third and fourth in the state.
