CLEVELAND — The Guardians will unveil another phase of their on-going “Progressive Field Reimagined” project on Tuesday for their home opener against the Chicago White Sox — if the weather plays along, of course.
For the second season in a row, the Guardians opened the regular season with an extended road trip to allow for a couple extra weeks of construction time to work on the renovations and ensure the park is ready for its opening day, although it could be a frosty atmosphere for baseball.
The team hosted local media to preview all of the changes for the 2025 season with a “What’s New” event.
Here are the highlights.
Terrace Hall, North Coast Social
In terms of fan experience, the largest change involves the area down the left-field line that used to be known as the Terrace Club, a windowed section of seating.
The Terrace Hall is a “reimagined” beer hall connecting indoor and outdoor spaces. This area features the CLEVELAND bar globe light above the bar.
The North Coast Social offers semi-private, open-air Terrace Box seating that includes exclusive access to an indoor lounge and preferred parking. The area has more of a group-seating feel to it, and the seats themselves can be heated.
This section used to be involved in windows. The Terrace Garden rooftop patio opened a year ago, and the North Coast Social and Terrace Hall areas join it as renovated parts of the ballpark.
New food items at Progressive Field for 2025
The team is also unveiling some new food items available for the 2025 season.
Available in the Terrace Garden:
- A “Big Mozz” mozzarella stick sandwich with garlic toast, marinara, pesto mayonnaise, balsamic dressing and arugula.
- Beer-battered fried pickles served with a smoky barbecue aioli
- A smoked turkey leg drumstick
- A fried bologna sandwich on a voice bun with American cheese, potato chips and a tangy sauce
Several new items will be available in other parts of the ballpark, including:
- Guardian Burger: In collaboration with Gunselman’s Tavern, this burger is served on a brioche bun topped with salami, capitol, pepperoni, provolone cheese, lettuce, pickled onion, hot banana peppers and a herb vinaigrette. (Section 175)
- “Best Damn Cheesesteak: In collaboration with Black Box Fix in Legacy Village, the cheesesteak includes sautéed Philly meat on a hoagie roll with onions, provolone, Swiss cheese and cajun queso. (Section 113)
- Spicy pepperoni flatbread: Artisanal flatbread that includes mozzarella, pepperoni, pickled jalapeño, hot honey and pizza sauce. (Section 133)
Guardians team store location
The Guardians team store will return to its previous location off Ontario Street. The store was closed last season due to renovations and moved to the plaza area just outside the ballpark.
Progressive Field transitioning to blue seats
A much larger section of seats at Progressive field will be blue in 2025, the continuation of a process that began last year and is expected to be completed before Opening Day 2026. A Diamond “C” logo also now appears in the seating in the upper deck behind home plate.
Construction on The Carnegie Club is still ongoing and is expected to be completed in May.
