Developing Kingdoms In Different Stages (K.I.D.S.), a nonprofit, was founded in Redford Township in 2007 to service its community through three areas: Prevention, Family Management, and Community Support. The underlying philosophy is leaders will be developed and nurtured in every community the nonprofit serves. The mission is fulfilled through efforts of reaching out to families rather than individuals. There is support for families, but the priority is youth, and the organization hosts activities for them to work together to build and boost strong communities. In late 2024, the group moved into a new 23,000-square-foot building in northwest Detroit.
