COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Today was Kyle Field Day which provides opportunities for students at Texas A&M and community members to actively connect and participate with service organizations in the area.
Although it was a bit chilly out, the event still hosted a wide variety of organizations ranging from small-scale projects to participating in spreading awareness about services.
There was also food, music, free t-shirts, and a surprising amount of dogs.
One organization trains service dogs for veterans at no cost to the retired military members receiving them.
“So today we’re here at Kyle Field Day making some tugs and bells for our organization,” said Madi Summers, a volunteer for Patriot Paws. “Since our raisers down here in Aggieland are all volunteers sometimes money is a little bit tight so we like to do these things to provide to our members so they can actually train and do all these things and support us.”
