MARION COUNTY, Mo. (WGEM) – A new measure on the April 8 ballot in Marion County hopes to modernize the school district.
On Tuesday, Marion County residents will decide if infrastructure improvements will be made to their school district.
“This is something that is necessary to continue to provide a place for students to come and learn that is safe and productive,” said Savannah O’Bryan, district superintendent.
If passed, the district will be able to borrow nearly $1.5 million to make improvements to the county schools. The proposition will not affect taxpayers and will last for three years.
“We believe that with the plan we have moving forward, this will be a wonderful way to continue to thrive in our school district,” O’Bryan said.
She explained the biggest improvements will be fixing roofs, expanding the weight room, and modernizing the locker rooms.
