
Financial Literacy Workshop is April 10
A free workshop is set to run from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at the Pueblo West Library, 298 S. Joe Martinez Blvd.
The workshop is designed to help people struggling to understand their income taxes or recent changes to social security. The workshop is held in partnership with Prospera Financial.

I Heart Mac & Cheese celebrating one-year anniversary
I Heart Mac & Cheese, 1002 North Market Plaza, Unit A, in Pueblo West, is set to celebrate its first anniversary with free food, giveaways, discounts and more.
Starting at 11 a.m. on April 12, the first 25 paying customers will win a free grilled cheese sandwich once a week for a year (one per family). Owner Kerry Mand, who also owns two I Heart Mac & Cheese franchises in Colorado Springs, will offer a free flavor-of-the-day specialty treat with a purchase of $20 or more on April 13 and 14, and kids can eat free with the purchase of an adult entree on April 14.
On Tuesday, April 15, the celebration will include a free flavor-of-the-day specialty treat with every purchase, swag giveaways, face painting, balloons, the Steel City Wrestlers, music by a DJ, and a 4-6 p.m. fire truck exhibit. Craft Night with Jessica runs 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, and Autism Awareness Day with Soaring Eagles Center for Autism is April 17.
The celebration will continue with a free flavor-of-the-day specialty treat with a minimum $20 purchase on Friday, April 18, plus a collaboration with Shiver & Shake (featuring their two-for-$12 dessert with I Heart Mac & Cheese’s two-for-$20 meal deal. There will also be a Pueblo West High School SkillsUSA Club Fundraiser.
Festivities wrap up on Saturday, April 19, with the National Wear Your PJs to Work Day event. Customers who come to the restaurant in their pajamas will get a 20% discount.
Pinnacol Assurance refunds money to Pueblo businesses
Pinnacol Assurance, a workers’ compensation provider, announced it awarded a 2025 general dividend by returning $344,530 to Pueblo policyholders.
This marks the 10th consecutive year Pinnacol has shared dividends with Colorado businesses, reinforcing its commitment to safety and solid financial management, according to a press release. The dividend is a portion of Pinnacol’s surplus, earned by customers who maintain safe workplaces.
