GRANDVIEW, Mo. (KCTV) – Hundreds of kids in Grandview got new running shoes Friday.
Three-hundred and sixty students gathered at Belvidere Elementary School for the “Day of Dreams” event with organizers hoping to empower kids to reach their goals by providing resources, mentorship and community support.
The event ended with each kid in attendance getting a new pair of athletic shoes.
“We love serving kids and making a difference in a kids’ life,” said Kyle Alexander, a regional director for Samaritan’s Feet International. “We use a pair of shoes to share hope, love and encouragement with any kid at this elementary school. All kids get a pair today. If we can do that, we are using the vehicle of a new pair of shoes to do that. To make their life just a little bit better today.
“And if we change the life of one kid in a positive way, that kid can change the world forever.”
Students also received a drawstring bag featuring hygiene information and a hope note through the event put on by Samaritan’s Feet International and Niagara Bottling.
