Rochester, N.Y. — The Center for Youth’s food pantry “The Nook” received a donation Friday from the Bank of America to help assist in its mission to fight food insecurity.
Volunteers from the organization gifted an assortment of essential items to the pantry on Monroe Avenue, which is designed especially for young people.
The restocking will happen each quarter and includes non-perishable food items, household items and hygiene products.
“Our young people are doing the best that they can in these incredibly uncertain times,” said Elaine Spaull, director for The Center for Youth. “What I see is often a food insecurity, housing insecurity and just an unstable life. Being fed, having protein and pasta sauce, cereal, soup — it makes a difference.”
The donation is a part of the pantry’s “Adopt a Shelf” program, allowing businesses and individuals to make meaningful contributions to maintain crucial community resources.
