COD BO6 Season 3 is here, with zombies, Shattered Veil map and 2 new modes

It’s a big day for video game players.

The Nintendo Direct on April 2 revealed new information about the Switch 2 – including its official release date and price – and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 dropped Season 3.

This new season of BO6 will give players new guns and weapons like the Nail Gun and Kali Sticks, and three new locations to explore, including a new zombies map – Shattered Veil.

Players will also have two more modes to play. Demolition will have your team defend or attack a bomb site, while Sharpshooter is more of a free-for-all with each player having the same loadout, but a new kit every 45 seconds.

Yes, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 released on Oct. 25, 2024, for PlayStation, Xbox and PC players.

When does Season 3 of BO6 come out?

Season 3 of BO6 began at 9 a.m. Mountain Standard time on April 2.

Will BO6 come to Nintendo Switch?

While the April Nintendo Direct gave a lot of updates to the highly anticipated Switch 2, BO6 was not one of the new games announced for the console.

How many seasons will BO6 have?

Like previous COD: Black Ops games, BO6 will have a total of six seasons.

The first season was released on Nov. 14, 2024, the second season was released on Jan. 28, 2025, and the third season was released on April 3, 2025.

And on Dec. 5, 2024, BO6 released a brand-new Zombies map — Citadelle des Morts.

Is Black Ops 6 free on Xbox?

If you’re an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, BO6 is free. But players will still have to spend some of their real-life cash for in-game purchases, including the Battle Pass that launched with Season 1.
