
Week after week, it seems like we are getting news of more and more restaurants, clothing stores, and other retailers closing their doors for good and going out of business.
Just a couple of weeks ago, we learned that a popular Tex-Mex restaurant chain, On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina, with 60 company-operated restaurants in the United States and internationally, had filed for bankruptcy protection and was closing all its locations in Texas.
Then, last week, we learned that a fashion giant in the clothing industry had filed for bankruptcy and was liquidating its assets. Forever 21 announced that 32 locations in Texas would be closing and provided a list here.

Today, we have learned that one of Texas’s favorite fast food restaurant chains will be closing six locations in East Texas soon. The restaurant known for its famous Blizzards and chicken strips with white gravy, will be closing a few of their locations for good in the East Texas area.

More Dairy Queen locations in East Texas have closed their doors permanently.
Becky Setters, manager for the Hemphill location, said in a Facebook post Monday that Lone Star DQ decided to close the following restaurants: Hemphill, Jasper, Kountze, Huntington, Lufkin, and the Longview location on Eastman Road.
We hate to hear about the closures and wish the owners good luck and prayers for their future. Now, if you are worried that all of the Dairy Queen locations in Texas will be closing, we have not learned of any news on that front.
There are still approximately just South of 580 Dairy Queen locations left in the state of Texas to get your blizzard fix, so it seems for now, you should be good.
