Neither Silent Hill, nor P.T.: Abandoned was a lie and Hasan Kahraman is still missing four years later

BLUE BOX Game Studios, Hasan Kahraman… Bullshit, it was all bullshit. These are the names behind Abandoned, the horror game announced for PS5 that not only never saw the light of day but never will because it was a scam. It’s been four years since it was announced, and it never hurts to remember what happened, as it was a real embarrassment for the video game industry.

On the day of the announcement, something very strange happened, and that is that many people associated Abandoned with the canceled P.T. and with Hideo Kojima himself. People thought it was some kind of show that would finally end with the revelation of the Japanese creative at the helm of the project, but it was never like that. The people in charge of Abandoned gave the community reason to speculate with this theory, but eventually, and due to social pressure, they decided to come out and confirm that the creator had absolutely nothing to do with the game, something Kojima himself also said.

They even launched an app on the PS Store that showed a short trailer and later served as a hub for testing a demo that, of course, never arrived. In the summer of 2022, GameSpot conducted an investigation and even published harsh accusations against Hasan Kahraman: racy Discord chats, misspelled NDAs, and even discussions that included such unfortunate comments as suggesting suicide to a minor and, finally, Kahraman’s own admission that Abandoned wasn’t even in development.

Abandoned was an attempt to defraud investors, and in the middle of 2025, not only has it not been released, it will never be released.
