Monsters honor Cleveland Heights bus driver who saved kids before fire

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The Cleveland Monsters honored a Cleveland Heights bus driver who got a bus full of kids to safety before the bus caught fire.

Dorian Pace was the Monsters’ community captain at their game against the Texas Stars Saturday night.

The Monsters gave Pace a limo ride to the game. Pace also participate in the VIP puck drop.

In late February, on the way to Monticello Middle School, Pace’s school bus burst into flames at the corner of Cambridge and Northhampton Roads.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze and students were picked up by another district vehicle and brought to school.

There were no injuries because of Pace’s quick thinking.
