The HUB of Hope food pantry, part of Pathways of Hope, is sounding the alarm over a critical shortage of food supplies. This week, grocery rescues—a vital source of food donations from local stores—have seen a significant drop, leaving the pantry’s shelves nearly bare.
In an effort to combat the crisis and continue serving the community, pantry officials have outlined the most needed items. Donations of canned goods, including meat, tuna, vegetables, soups, and beans, are urgently requested. Additionally, essential staples like pasta, rice, peanut butter, jelly, and breakfast items such as cereal and oatmeal are also in high demand.
“Every donation, no matter how small, has the potential to make a significant impact for those in need,” a representative from Pathways of Hope emphasized. Community members are encouraged to drop off food at the pantry or organize mini-food drives through schools, churches, or workplaces to help replenish the dwindling supplies.
