A Rosie Run takes over Notre Dame campus to support medically fragile kids

A fun and inspiring event is raising money for medically fragile children.

Rare ND is presenting the third annual “A Rosie Run for Children”.

The 5K Walk or Run takes a scenic route through the University of Notre Dame’s campus.

It is benefiting A Rosie Place for Children, a home-away-from-home, for children who are medically fragile and need 24-7 care.

Sherina Gonzalez, Director of Development, says one goal is to essentially help give the families a break.

“So what we do is come beside them we offer families a chance for a break essentially so they have time to engage with your other children spend time with your spouse go on vacation get a surgery that they need so while they’re able to do that and sort of get their rejuvenation they need we are able to have the children come to us for a sleepover,” says Gonzales.

Gonzalez say fundraisers are important in order for A Rosie Place for Children to continue offering this service for free.

The next event is the “Rosie Golf Classic” in May.
