CAPS kicks off Child Abuse Prevention Month with ‘Rally for Kids’ in Elkhart

ELKHART, Ind. (WNDU) – A rally was held on Thursday in an effort to make us all more aware of predators in our midst.

The “Rally for Kids” was held by Child and Parents Services (CAPS) in Elkhart.

The goal is to get us all to talk about the real and present danger posed by child abusers.

“While the impact of child abuse is undeniably devastating, we are gathered today though fueled by hope, because we know that prevention is possible,” said Rebecca Shetler Fast, president and CEO of CAPS. “We know that our community is united in the belief that keeping our children safe is everyone’s responsibility. It’s in our DNA.”

Speakers encouraged all of us, especially those of us defending the people’s right to know, to talk about child abuse and shine a light on the scourge.
