Marseille targetting move for Aymeric Laporte

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Olympique de Marseille are still considering a move for Spanish international Aymeric Laporte (30). However, they will face fierce competition from several clubs across Europe with the centre-back set to become a free agent at the end of next season.

Marseille had considered a move for the former Manchester City defender who currently plys his trade in Saudi Arabia for Al-Nassr during the past winter window, but the transfer was complicated to complete despite his interest in the project, and eventually, Marseille decided to instead bring in Luiz Felipe (28) on a free transfer.

Les Phocéens will hope that a successful season this year under Roberto De Zerbi will return the club to the Champions League and provide an attractive argument for Laporte to join the club over the summer. Laporte, for his part, has previously hinted at wanting to return to Europe
