Women in finance make half of a man’s salary, but the industry is changing

SHERIDAN — The image of the “finance bro” cemented its place in pop culture long ago — a stereotype often pictured by a suit-wearing, BMW-driving man with dreams of making it to Wall Street. According to an article published by the Wall Street Journal in June 2024, “finance bros” have dominated cultural conversations around what it takes to make it big and earn a lot of money in the process.

But where do women in finance fit into this equation?
