
The race for Omaha mayor will be narrowed down to just two candidates soon, and newly released campaign finance reports show the story on the candidates’ final pushes. All candidates spent more than they had all year in just three weeks through most of March and late February.But this time, it’s Mike McDonnell who’s outraised the others in those three weeks.McDonnell reported $240,000 in spending so far this year.His campaign said they have momentum, raising $167,000 between late February and mid-March. Still, Mayor Jean Stothert has taken an even bigger advantage in spending than she already had.She spent more than half a million dollars in those three weeks between Feb. 26th and March 17, meaning the Stothert campaign has spent nearly three quarters of a million dollars this year. Stothert raised about $98,000 during those three weeks. John Ewing has spent $99,000 this year.He told KETV he’s focusing on direct engagement to voters, and he’s confident they have the funding to be competitive.Jasmine Harris has spent $25,000 this year.
