Harris Named To RQ Foundation Board of Directors

–The RQ Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the best possible resources and development opportunities for officials, has named its first Board of Directors.

The RQ Foundation Board of Directors includes: Reid Amos, commissioner of the Mountain East Conference (MEC) (DII); Bo Boroski, RQ+ Founder and CEO; Dan Butterly, commissioner of The Big West Conference (DI); Danielle Harris, commissioner of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) (DIII); Sandy Hatfield Clubb, president of The PICTOR Group and managing director for strategic initiatives for the Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics; and Patrick B. Summers, executive director of the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) (DIII).
 
The Board will be primarily focused on five key priorities related to RQ Foundation operations: evaluating overall effectiveness; reviewing an annual plan and budget; providing long-range vision to senior management; ensuring the mission of the RQ Foundation is achieved and contributing strategically on the organization’s behalf.

Paired with their clear passion for the advancement of officiating at the intercollegiate level, we know these leaders will help carry out the mission and initiatives of the foundation and contribute to the success of officiating for years to come.”
 
The only commissioner in the 12-year history of the Mountain East, Amos has helped establish a reputation of excellence among his conference institutions, with 14 MEC teams winning national championships or making championship game appearances in that span. Amos has worked to expand the number of conference sports from 16 to 23 during his tenure and led the development of the MEC Digital Network. Highly involved at the national level as well, Amos currently serves as President of the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) after occupying the role of CCA 2nd Vice President last year. He additionally served on NCAA Division II Championships, Football, and Men’s Golf Committees, concluding each of those terms as chair.
 
An NCAA Division I basketball official for more than 20 years and a recipient of three consecutive Men’s Final Four assignments, Boroski implemented his vision from his extensive officiating background to become Founder and CEO of RQ+ in 2018. Since then, he has built RQ+ into the nation’s premier officiating services provider, finalizing partnerships with the NCAA and more than 100 individual athletics conferences across Divisions I, II and III, and the NAIA. A former college baseball player at UAB, sports have been in Boroski’s blood throughout his life. Currently residing in Indianapolis, Boroski and his spouse are the parents to two children.
 
Butterly is the Commissioner of The Big West Conference, a role he assumed on July 1, 2020. Prior to The Big West, he served 21 years with the Mountain West Conference, contributing to its national prominence. A highly respected leader in college athletics, he serves on numerous national committees, including serving as the chair of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Oversight Committee, a member of the NCAA Division I Council and Vice President of the Collegiate Commissioner’s Association. Butterly has been a key voice in shaping policies that enhance competition, student-athlete welfare and student-athlete experience, and officiating excellence.
 
Now in her fifth year as WIAC Commissioner, Harris is coming off several major milestones in her leadership of the league over the past two years. Last year, she oversaw the addition of men’s tennis and women’s lacrosse as sponsored championship sports, while 2022-23 was highlighted by a comprehensive rebranding campaign, as well as the creation of the WIAC Network – the league’s end-to-end digital streaming platform. Harris also serves NCAA Division III as a member of the Men’s Ice Hockey Committee and the Executive Committee of the Division III Commissioners’ Association.
 
As President of the PICTOR Group, a firm that offers innovative solutions in the ever-evolving world of intercollegiate athletics, Hatfield Clubb’s clients have included the NCAA, National Governing Bodies, and numerous NCAA institutions, conferences, and national organizations across all three Divisions. Hatfield Clubb serves as the Knight Commission for Intercollegiate Athletics Managing Director for Strategic Initiatives, and was formerly the athletic director at Drake University, where she catalyzed the athletics culture with the creation of “The Bulldog Way.” A bonafide national leader, Hatfield Clubb also served on the inaugural NCAA Division I Council and as Chair of the Division I Vision and Planning Committee.
 
The NEWMAC has flourished over Summers’ 14 years as executive director. During his tenure, he has expanded conference membership and sport sponsorship, negotiated a five-year media rights agreement, established an association-wide working group focused on officiating recruitment and retention, rebranded the conference logo and marks and implemented two strategic plans. Summers has assembled an impressive national service record as well, currently serving as a member of the NCAA Division III Management Council, Past President of the NCAA Division III Commissioners Association while also spending time on the NCAA Division III Advisory Council, Interpretations and Legislation Committee, Men’s Tennis Committee, Commissioners Association Officiating Committee and Convention Planning Subcommittee, among others.
 
The RQ Foundation is steadfast in its commitment to addressing and mitigating the challenges confronting the officiating profession in today’s climate.
