First Alert 6, Salvation Army to hold ‘Love Beyond Hunger’ food drive

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – First Alert 6 and The Salvation Army are teaming up for a food drive in Omaha on Thursday.

Participants are asked to bring nonperishable food items to the event at the NP Dodge Management Company lot at 8701 W Dodge Rd. It will go from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday.

“You don’t have to get out of your car. It’ll be a drive-through. We’ll have people there that will actually take your items,” Tiffanie McCowin, Program Director at Salvation Army Burrows Center, said.

The Salvation Army reports that they recently experienced a 14 percent increase in demand for food at its midtown pantry.

The theme of the food drive is “Love Beyond Hunger.” Monetary donations to the food drive can be made on the Salvation Army’s website.
